A vocal central defender with real leadership qualities, Taylor was a regular for the under-18s last term, starting 26 times in the academy league, helping the side finish fourth.
He also played twice each for the under-23s and the under-21s in the EFL Trophy, and was rewarded for an impressive season with his first professional contract in July 2022.
On transfer deadline day in January 2023, he joined Hartlepool United to gain his first experience of life in the Football League.
Once played as an emergency goalkeeper in his debut for the under-23s, Taylor is also a black belt in kickboxing.
